PHINMA ACADEMICS

General Policies and Guidelines

  • A scholarship is a privilege and not a right. It carries with it certain responsibilities.
  • No student should expect a scholarship, a work grant, or any financial assistance from the college unless s/he has been formally accepted and has received official notification of the grant.
  • Scholarship grants are made only to those candidates on the basis of academic merit while financial assistance is given on the basis of financial need.
  • Non-compliance of the scholarship guidelines shall automatically disqualify the student from any scholarship.

 

Academic Scholarship

Presidential Scholarship


The Presidential Scholarship aims to admit the best students preferably from  national high schools.

BENEFITS :

  • 100% coverage of fees (tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory)
  • An allowance of Php 4,000 for 10 months every school year

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be a senior in a national high school or a science high school.
  • The student must be one of the 10 best students of selected national high schools.
  • The student must pursue Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED), or Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA).
  • The student must pass the scholarship exam.

MAINTENANCE :

  • The student must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 1.75.
  • The student must not have a grade lower than 2.
  • The student must not have a mark of Incomplete, Dropped, or Failed.
  • The student must have a full load.
  • The student must not have any disciplinary sanction.
  • The student must do 10 service hours per week.

 

Valedictorian Scholarship


The Valedictorian Scholarship is given to valedictorians in any high school with at least 100 graduates in the batch.

BENEFIT : 

  • 100% coverage of the tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be a valedictorian of a high school with at least 100 graduating students in his/her batch.

REQUIREMENTS :

The student must submit the following documents to the Scholarship In-Charge at the Center for Student Development and Leadership, on or before the start of 1st Semester Enrollment:

  • Certificate that he/she is the valedictorian of his/her batch
  • Form 137
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • NSO Birth Certificate

MAINTENANCE :

  • The student must be part of the Dean’s List.
  • The student must not have a mark of Incomplete, Dropped, or Failed.
  • The student must have a full load.
  • The student must not have any disciplinary sanction.
  • The student must do 10 service hours per week.

 

Salutatorian Scholarship


The Salutatorian Scholarship is given to salutatorians in any high school with at least 100 graduates in the batch.

BENEFIT :

  • 50% coverage of the tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be a salutatorian in a high school with at least 100 graduating students in his/her batch.

REQUIREMENTS :

The student must submit the following documents to Scholarship In-Charge at the Center for Student Development and Leadership, on or before the start of 1st Semester Enrollment:

  • Certificate that he/she is the salutatorian of his/her batch
  • Form 137
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • NSO Birth Certificate

MAINTENANCE :

  • The student must be part of the Dean’s List.
  • The student must not have a mark of Incomplete, Dropped, or Failed.
  • The student must have a full load.
  • The student must not have any disciplinary sanction.
  • The student must do 10 service hours per week.

 

Dean’s List Full Scholarship


BENEFIT :

  • 100% coverage on tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be one of the top 10 students on the Dean’s List (not Presidential, Gov. Moreno, OJH, 1 of 100, and College scholars)

REQUIREMENTS :

  • The Official Dean’s List is generated by the Registrar’s Office every semester

MAINTENANCE :

  • The student must be a part of the top 10 of the Dean’s List who are not Presidential, Gov. Moreno, OJH, 1 of 100, or College scholar.
  • The student must not have a mark of Incomplete, Dropped or Failed.
  • The student must have a full load or at least 21 units for irregular students.
  • The student must not have any disciplinary sanction

 

Dean’s List Half Scholarship


BENEFIT :

  • 50% coverage on tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must belong to top 11-25 of the Dean’s List (not Presidential, Gov. Moreno, OJH, 1 of 100, and College scholars)

REQUIREMENTS :

  • The Official Dean’s List is generated by the Registrar’s Office every semester.

MAINTENANCE :

  • The student must be a part of the top 11-25 of the Dean’s List.
  • The student must not have Incomplete, Dropped or Failed mark.
  • The student must have a full load or at least 21 units for irregular students.
  • The student must not have any disciplinary sanction.

 

NON-Academic Scholarship

PHINMA Scholarship (Handog Kaibigan)


BENEFIT :

  • 50% coverage on Tuition and Miscellaneous

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be an incoming freshman.
  • The student must belong to a low-income family.
  • The student must pass the scholarship exam.

REQUIREMENTS :

The student must submit the following documents at the Marketing Department, on or before the set deadline:

  • Certificate of Indigency
  • Form 137
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • NSO Birth Certificate

MAINTENANCE :

  • The scholarship extends for the normal life of the chosen program upon enrollment in first year.
  • Must be able to render 80 hours/semester.

 

Student Assistantship and Student Marshal Scholarship


BENEFIT :

  • 100% coverage on tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must belong to a low-income family.
  • The student must not have any failing grade.
  • No disciplinary record.
  • Must enroll maximum of 24 units only.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must pass the exam
  • Must submit two (2) of the following documents
  • Income Statement of Parent/s
  • Proof of Billing (of the current month)/Certificate of Indigency
  • Good Moral Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • Report Card (for freshmen)
  • Photocopy of Grade Report from Registrar (For old student)
  • 2×2 photo

MAINTENANCE :

  • The student must not have a mark of Incomplete, Dropped, or Failed.
  • The student is required twenty (20) hours service service every week to his/heroffice/canteen/food strip assignment.
  • The student is required to submit monthly attendance signed by the immediate supervisor to CSDL.
  • SA’s are required to attend monthly meetings, and other institutional activities.

 

Athletic Scholarship (For COC and UPang)


The Athletic Scholarship is exclusively available to students who are part of the basketball team.

BENEFIT :

  • 100% or 50% of tuition, as recommended by Head Coach

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be recommended by the head coach of the basketball team.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Certificate of Recommendation by the Head Coach
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • NSO Birth Certificate

MAINTENANCE :

  • No failing grade, of good moral conduct, must not have been suspended during the previous term for disciplinary reasons
  • Fit to play, recommended by the Head Coach
  • Renewable depending on performance evaluation by the Head Coach

 

Employee Dependents (Please refer to PEN Employee Dependent Memo-HR Office)


 

Scholarship for the Dependents of PHINMA Company Employees


BENEFIT :

  • 25% Coverage on Tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • Either the student must be a child of a married PHINMA employee or the student must be a sibling of an unmarried PHINMA employee.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Certificate of Employment
  • NSO Birth Certificate

MAINTENANCE :

  • As long as parent/sibling remains a PHINMA employee

 

Children of Alumni Scholarship


BENEFIT :

  • 10% coverage on tuition

ELIGIBILITY :

  • The student must be a child of a PEN school alumnus/alumna

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Transcript of Records or Diploma of Parent/s
  • NSO Birth Certificate of child/children

 

Kapamilya Scholarship


The student must be a sibling of another student enrolled in the same PEN school.

BENEFITS :

  • 2nd Child – 10% tuition
  • 3rd Child – 25% tuition
  • 4th Child – 50% tuition

REQUIREMENTS :

  • NSO Birth Certificates of children

MAINTENANCE :

  • As long as children are currently enrolled.
